Plan Your Exchange

Costs

An exchange is usually more expensive than your studies in Germany. Not only study fees make studying abroad expensive, you need to add costs for health insurance, travel expenses as well as costs of living. The costs also vary from country to country. By exchanging within an exchange program study fees are released in general.

Scholarships and funding

An overview of various scholarships is given on the website Finanzierung des Auslandsstudiums (in German). Keep in mind, that even if you are eligible for a scholarship, you will need own resources in addition to finance your exchange. However, working while studying abroad is not recommended.
