"Meet the Funder" – National Funding Opportunities for Early Career Researchers

LMU Information Event and Individual Appointments

LMU Munich invites early career researchers to an information event on 11 October 2019 on national funding opportunities with the possibility to arrange an individual appointment with a funder. The event is particularly targeted at postdoctoral researchers. Researchers from other Munich-based higher education and research institutions are welcome. The event will be held in English.

Info session:
During the info session representatives of three research funding organizations, namely German Research Foundation (DFG), VolkswagenStiftung as well as German Cancer Aid, will present their organization’s funding opportunities for postdoctoral researchers.
All participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and to network with other fellow early career researchers. Additionally, participants will be informed about the services offered by the Unit for Research Funding (VIII.3) at LMU.

Deadline for Registration: 20 September 2019

Individual appointments (app. 15 minutes each):
Participants who plan to submit a proposal can apply for an individual appointment with a funding organization. You may choose between three types of individual appointments with the following funding organizations:

1) Dr. Georg Munz (DFG) – for researchers from Medicine, especially from the disciplines Gastroenterology, Metabolism, Endocrinology, Diabetology

2) Dr. Oliver Grewe (VolkswagenStiftung)

3) Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ruland (German Cancer Aid)

The number of slots is limited. Please note that in our registration form we ask you for your scientific CV and to answer a few questions with regard to your proposal. The selection of participants will be conducted based on this information. Participants will be informed until about one week before the event.
